Appropriate Dress When Going To Church
In older period, hats and gloves are the fashion in going to church. In modern times, people go to church on their pants, dress and shirts whichever they we comfortable with.
If you have just moved or changed religion, it is recommended to check if your new church dictates a certain dress code. They may have a social norm about wearing the appropriate dresses when going to church. Certain provinces in the countryside may be a little more conservative than those in the city.
The safest attire you can wear if you don’t know about the dress code of the church is to go in your business attire. Men may prefer to go in their khaki pants paired with a button down shirt and a simple leather sandals. Women on the other hand may prefer to go to church with their elegant dress or a skirt and a top worn with simple low heeled shoes.
It is advisable to always keep your shoulders from being exposed. Wearing a skirt that doesn’t show too much of your leg is also advised by the church. Have an experiment as to how short your skirt can be by wearing different lengths of skirts when going to church every Sunday.
Prints are always nice to see as it brings excitement and connotes a happy aura to the one wearing it. However, always keep these prints in accordance to the ceremony and the occasion.
The best clothes that you can wear are those that you feel comfortable with. You just have to be yourself and don’t mind what others are wearing and don’t wear clothes that you feel are too much to handle inside the church, as long as it is not revealing too much skin, then you are ready to go to church.
